Surfer Mick Fanning Encounters Another Shark A Week After Attack! How Did He React? [VIDEO]

| By

Three-time world champion surfer Mick Fanning managed to miraculously survive a shark attack during a competition in South Africa with barely a scratch on himself.

Still, the encounter left him scared and shaken as he flew back to Australia.

Like a true man of the ocean, however, the 34-year-old brought his surfboard with him and jumped right into the water off the New South Wales coast just a week after the incident, according to The Guardian.

Unbelievably, Mick Fanning had yet another shark encounter right in his home turf. Just like the first time he fended off a shark, the "60 Minute" crew filmed him scrambling up on a jet ski after the sighting this time.

He quickly jumped on a jet ski for safety after noticing a possible shark's fin in the vicinity.

"We were sitting on there and then we sort of looked and we just saw a tiny little fin," he told host as soon as he got back on shore, pointing out the alleged shark in the sea.

"You wouldn't believe it - yeah, I swear to God ... it was a full shark, hey," he added.

In the sit-down interview, he admitted that he's still dealing with the mental trauma from the attack.

"I guess when something like this happens, you're in your own mind, and your mind can play tricks on you," he shared. "Your mind can ... turn shadows into demons, or stuff like that. And then you sort of have, like, different self-doubts, and like, why did I get away with that?"

He revealed that he was "going to seek help, for sure."

"I think it's the only way to deal with it," he admitted.

With Mick Fanning's second shark encounter and the attack on another surfer, Craig Ison, last Friday has led the New South Wales councils to "investigating strategies" to "beachgoers informed of sightings," according to Courier Mail.
