Woman Set on Fire By Boyfriend in San Francisco, Faces Life-Threatening Injuries

| By

A woman set on fire by her boyfriend in San Francisco is currently in hospital with life-threatening burns, after he threw a flammable liquid at woman and setting her on fire on Sunday, according to reports.

Police identified her attacker as Dexter Oliver, 22, according to San Francisco Chronicle. The woman set on fire has not been named. Police say the couple had been dating and a motive for setting her alight was not given. Most of the woman's face was burnt, however, doctors say she will survive, despite having life-threatening injuries.

The victim's sister, Precious Craig, told KGO-TV that Oliver used gasoline and lit the woman on fire during an argument at a nearby Laundromat.

"She was basically like running and she was just screaming, yeah because that's what I heard, I was like, 'Oh my gosh, she's screaming, let's go get her,'" an unnamed witness said.

San Francisco police investigators hope surveillance cameras can shed more on the horrific crime. However, they believe the man behind setting the woman on fire is her boyfriend.

Oliver is described as being 5'10" tall, African-American and weighs about 155 pounds. His description also includes "last seen wearing a red-and-white hoodie jacket, dark pajama pants with a multicolored shamrock print, with gray and red Nike tennis shoes. Oliver also has a design haircut of a fish on one side of his head, and a lightning bolt on the other side."
