The Mall of Louisiana was evacuated Saturday night after a flash mob turned into an ugly brawl, according to ABC via Yahoo! News.
As many as 200 young people were in the food court of the Baton Rouge mall for an apparent flash mob, but things turned ugly quickly.
Cellphone video captured the chaos as shoppers jammed escalators and ran for the nearest exits in Baton Rouge, the state capital. Employees at the mall were ordered to abandon their cash registers and evacuate immediately.
According to a spokeswoman for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, Casey Rayborn Hicks, "We [the sheriff's office] think there was some sort of post on social media about a flash mob for tonight which drew such a large crowd of juveniles." The fight went down in the mall's food court.
According to the report, up to 10 people face charges related to the ugly flash mob brawl.
A witness who requested not to be named told WWLTV that she was in the food court with her child when she saw teenagers getting into a fight.
As the altercation escalated, the woman said that people started overturning tables and jumping over them. She told the station that she grabbed her child and ran as fast as she could in the opposite direction.
