Josh Brolin was arrested for public intoxication just before midnight on Jan. 1 in Santa Monica, Calif., TMZ reports.
According to law enforcement sources, Brolin was booked into jail at 3:02 a.m. and then released at 7:14 a.m. on Jan. 2. Fortunately for Brolin, police did not issue a citation which means he won't need to appear in court for the incident.
"This was a booking only to hold him until he sobered up," Santa Monica Police Sgt. Richard Lewis said, according to the report. "We do not normally file any charges on persons for simple intoxication."
The New Year's Day incident was not the first time Josh Brolin was arrested. He is married to the lovely Diane Lane, and he was cited for misdemeanor domestic battery back in 2004 after she phoned police following an argument in their home. Bail was set at $20,000, reported LA Times.
In his most recent film, "Gangster Squad," he plays Sgt. John O'Mara on a Los Angeles Police Department unit that chases notorious mobster Mickey Cohen.
Sources close to Brolin tell TMZ that Josh Brolin star was partying with a couple of his good friends and simply ended up having "too much fun."
