‘Marvel’s Jessica Jones’ Netflix Series ‘Very Different’ From ‘Daredevil;’ Debut Moved To 2015!

Just because "Marvel's Jessica Jones" Netflix series and "Daredevil" exist in the same universe and the same network doesn't mean they'll both be the same. Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg revealed as much at the Television Critics Association press tour on Tuesday.

"'Jessica Jones' is a very, very different show than 'Daredevil,'" Rosenberg said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"We exist in a cinematic universe, [and] the mythology of the universe is connected, but they look very different, tonally they're very different... That was my one concern coming in: 'Am I going to have to fit into 'Daredevil' or what's come before?' And the answer is no."

And one more thing that distinguishes "Marvel's Jessica Jones" Netflix series and the Charlie Cox-starrer is their lead stars. Cox may catch a break during stunts in "Daredevil" but star Krysten Ritter doesn't.

"There is no mask. [She] is the hardest working woman in show biz," Rosenberg said of Ritter's performance.

The 33-year-old actress' performance was also praised by her character's co-creator Brian Michael Bendis, as reported by Franchise Herald last week. Bendis also raved about the upcoming show and said it's "just like the comics on their best day."

As in the comics, the Netflix series won't shy away from its "incredibly flawed, damaged and interesting character," according to its showrunner. And although working with the online streaming giant has been "the most freeing experience," Rosenberg said they'll remain "cognizant of the mythology and the world [of Jessica Jones]."

Meanwhile, fans hoping to start binge watching Marvel and Netflix's next production would be happy to know that the "Jessica Jones" premiere has reportedly been moved up to Q4 2015 from early 2016.

"No exact debut date has been announced for the 13-episode series but November or December seem likely," according to IGN.

The Krysten Ritter-starred "Marvel's Jessica Jones" Netflix series will eventually lead to a team up project "Defenders" with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (TBA).
