The last "Mr. Robot" episode broke the hearts of its fans and devastated lead character Elliot (Rami Malek). Shayla is gone.
Elliot's plan did not work and he paid the price for it. Not only did Vera escaped prison, Elliot's girlfriend was killed in the crossfire.
While the first few "Mr. Robot" episodes are improving week by week, series creator Sam Esmail says those first five hours of the first season are yet to tell the biggest story. He said they are just setting the audience up for the second season.
"I don't even consider what we're doing this season to be that huge. It was just the setup for the real story which really begins next season, which would have been Act 2 of our film," he said in an interview with Huffington Post.
Right now, the first half of "Mr. Robot" is dealing with taking down Evil Corp, the company who killed the parents of Elliot and his childhood friend Angela (Portia Doubleday).
Elliot is participating through the FSociety which recruited him via Mr. Robot (Christian Slater). Angel has her own strategy to take down Evil Corp and one can only assume that it might not go well for her.
The "Mr. Robot" episode before last week quite confused fans. Elliot suffered anxiety attacks and his mental issues kicked in.
He hallucinated the entire episode, leading to theories maybe all the things he is going through are just part of his imagination, just like what happened in the film "Fight Club."
Sam Esmail kept the audiences guessing but assured everything will be cleared by the end of the first season.
"What is real, or what isn't, is obviously a question" the "Mr. Robot" creator said when asked about what's real or not in the show. "But that wasn't just to be about [Mr. Robot] specifically -- it's supposed to be about everything."
"In this day and age, there's a whole catfishing syndrome," he futher explained. "You don't even know if the person you're communicating with online is actually that person. And your persona on your social media -- your Facebook or Twitter -- may not be the person you are in real life. So then, who is the real person? Is it somewhere in between? Is it the person behind closed doors or is it that person you're playing online? Reality, in general, in my opinion, has gotten blurred. So the show dives into that murkiness, and kind of swims in it."
The next "Mr. Robot" episode is called "eps1.6_v1ew-s0urce.flv" and will air on August 5.
