Despite fans' eagerness to see "Attack on Titan" season 2 this year, the anime will reportedly come next year.
Otaku House first reported that season 2 of the post-apocalyptic anime series is happening in July, however this did not happen.
Now Crunchy Roll is claiming that "Attack on Titan 2" release date is definitely happening next year.
A claim which was confirmed by Kpopstarz saying, "Fans have until next year to wait for 'Attack on Titan Season 2 to hit the tubes."
Apparently, Wit Studios wanted to let the manga "get a little farther ahead" from the anime series, hence "Attack on Titan" season 2 is said to be not happening anytime soon, iDigitalTimes reported.
The first season of the anime supposedly covered already half of the manga's story, which hasn't even been published.
VC Post added that that director Testsuro Araki already confirmed that "Attack on Titan" season 2 release date is indeed happening in 2016.
And in its efforts to not further disappoint the fans, Wit Studios has decided to released a movie compilation of "Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow."
In line with the release date news, "Attack on Titan" season 2 is reportedly going to focus on the plot that will follow the story of Hajme Isayama's manga character Eren as he discover something about the titans.
"Based on Hajime Isayama's manga, 'Attack on Titan' now on its highly anticipated season 2, tells the story of a boy named Eren who joins the Survey Corps in order to protect humanity against the unexplainable, giant, man-eating, Titans," the publication revealed. "Throughout the series Eren discovers shocking things about the titans that no man has ever witnessed, like humans being able to shift themselves into titans too."
In addition Kpopstarz claimed that there are going to be new characters included in "Attack on Titan" season 2 namely, "Captain Kenny Ackerman, Uri Reiss, Rod Reiss, Frieda Reiss, and the Beast Titan."
