British celebrities aren't the only ones taking over shows in the US. Australian actors in American TV have also been getting a lot of attention lately.
Current favorites include Claire Holt, who became famous for her role as the original vampire Rebecca in "The Originals." Likewise, Pheobe Tonkin, who stars with Holt in the same CW series, also captured viewer's attention for her role as the werewolf-vampire hybrid, Hayley.
Julian McMahon is famous for starring as Dr. Christian Troy in "Nip/Tuck", while Ellen DeGeneres' wife, Portia de Rossi became known for appearing in "Ally McBeal" and "Arrested Development."
Simon Baker is also making his presence known in American TV land as his character, Patrick Jane, in "The Mentalist."
"True Blood" also had an Aussie in their midst, Ryan Kwanten, who played Jason Stackhouse, Sookie's brother in the HBO series.
Meanwhile, blond beauty Yvonne Strahovski endeared viewers as Agent Sarah Walker in NBC's "Chuck" and alter starred in "Dexter" as Hannah McKay.
Other Australian actors in American TV include Tim Minchin ("Californication"), John Noble ("Fringe") and Toni Collette ("United States Of Tara").
