Although last season didn't end in a cliffhanger as other Julie Plec-produced shows usually do, "The Originals" season 3 will still be packed with a lot of juicy story materials.
A new dangerous mythology will reportedly be introduced this fall and according to the show's Comic Con panel, it's going to go deeper into the sire line story.
Michael Narducci and Plec promised the audience at Comic Con earlier this month that fans will get to know more about "the history of vampirism [like who were the first people turned?] and sire lines."
In line with this, two new characters will be joining the cast as recurring characters - and they don't sound like new allies for Klaus and his siblings.
According to previous reports, Aurora and Lucien will be stirring some trouble in New Orleans.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Aurora will be played by "Pretty Little Liars" vet Rebecca Breeds.
The enigmatic vampire will reportedly be the life of the party, described as "sexy, seductive, witty and free-spirited." However, she also has a tendency to become "malevolent, dangerous and extremely violent."
Meanwhile, "The Pacific" actor Andrew Lees will stepping up to portray Lucien. He will reportedly come to New Orleans with a "secret agenda" and it doesn't sound like something Klaus would enjoy.
"He's described as intelligent, charming, wildly successful and at ease with princes and paupers alike. He prides himself on being two steps ahead of everyone else," the report further described the new character.
Not all the new characters in "The Originals" season 3 will be vampires, however. "Veronica Mars" star Jason Dohring is also slated to join the show as a justice-seeking detective.
On the other hand, Klaus will become a full time father this fall, according to TVOM's round table discussion with actor Joseph Morgan. He also revealed that these new vampires will be visiting him in New Orleans to seek for revenge.
What he did exactly for the vampires he sired to seek for vengeance against him will be revealed when "The Originals" season 3 airs this Oct. 8, 9 p.m. on the CW.
