There have been rumors coming out that LeBron James will be taking over the role of Michael Jordan in "Space Jam 2." The 1996 film featured the Chicago Bulls superstar together with the Looney Tunes characters including Bugs Bunny.

They competed with the Nerdlucks who stole the talents of famous basketball players Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Larry Johnson, Shawn Bradley, and Muggsy Bogues.

Die-hard basketball fans are eager to see a sequel to "Space Jams" and many of them think that LeBron James is the perfect guy for the lead role since he has already made his mark in the history of basketball. During a Twitter Q & A, the 30-year-old basketball superstar was asked if he is doing "Space Jam 2."

"Maybe.......Guess we'll just have to wait and see. #LooneyToonsRock," LeBron replied.

The classic comedy film was produced by Warner Bros. and there were reports that LeBron James had signed a deal with the studio.

According to Hollywood Take, the star player of Cleveland Cavaliers wanted to further branch out into the entertainment world. In fact, he recently made his acting debut in "Trainwreck" and is willing to star in other projects.

"If it's the right script and it's authentic to who I am then I'm not afraid to show my face on camera and try it," he said.

LeBron James also explained why he decided to focus on doing films.

"Connecting with my fans and telling meaningful stories have always been my passion," he said as reported by Entertainment Weekly. "And I've always loved movies, which makes Warner Bros. the ultimate partner to help us continue to push the envelope. I can't wait to see what we come up with."

After announcing his tie-up with the studio, Capital New York reporter Alex Weprin revealed on Twitter that Warner Bros. has filed new trademarks for "Space Jam" last month.

It looks like LeBron James will be surprising his fans soon when he confirms that he will be starring in "Space Jam 2."
