The newest Disney Channel original movie "Descendants" will teach viewers some major life lessons they would want to keep - that life is always about making choices and breaking stereotypes.
Disney's "Descendants" movie revolves around the story of the teenage children of classic villains who were known to have brought misery to the lives of your favorite Disney prince and princesses. The sons and daughters of villains Jafar from "Aladdin," the Evil Queen from "Snow White," Cruella De Vil from "101 Dalmatians," and Maleficent from "Sleeping Beauty" will be given voice on the new movie.
These "child rebels" were banished from the kingdom now headed by King Beast and Queen Belle with their son Prince Ben. This time, they will be given a second chance to ward off their evil backgrounds.
Why are "child rebels" the focus of Disney's "Descendants" movie? Does this storyline say something negative?
One mom blogger says Disney's "Descendants" is about making choices in life, and recommends the movie for all
Texas-based mom blogger Staci Salazar praises Disney's "Descendants" movie for its music and storyline, something that parents might like recommend to their children.
She says, "Being raised by villains isn't easy. The youth begin to understand the lack of love they have been given throughout their lives."
For instance, the daughter of villain Maleficent in the movie is torn between her evil past and her choices for the future. Stacy says Maleficent wants her to be like her mother, even reminding her that the "future of the free world rests on [her] shoulders."
"[The youth] have no idea what love is... yet they seek it from their parents," the mom blogger further explains. "By making their own choices, they discover that 'love is not weak or ridiculous, it's actually amazing.'"
