Fans have been on the look out for Frank Ocean's song in "Southpaw," a sports drama film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams.
"Southpaw" follows the story of boxer Billy Hope, who is hoping for redemption through boxing following the death of his wife and after losing his child to child protection services.
The film is written by Kurt Sutter ("Sons of Anarchy", "The Shield") and directed by Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day," "The Equalizer," "Olympus Has Fallen").
Frank Ocean's song in "Southpaw" is said to be a preview of his upcoming album, "Boys Don't Cry" expected to hit records stores this month.
Last April, the R&B crooner announced that his album will be released this month, along with a magazine.
"A rep for Ocean confirmed toBillboard it is indeed both: A new album and his own publication are due in July. The magazine is titled is Boys Don't Cry while the album title has yet to be revealed," a Billboard report announced.
However, with the month ending, there is still no sign of a Frank Ocean album release. So what gives?
On the other hand, an earlier report revealed that Frank Ocean is beefing with singer Miguel.
When asked by The Sunday Times about his opinion of Ocean, Miguel gave a not-so-warm reply.
"I wouldn't say we were friends," Miguel said. "To be completely honest - and no disrespect to anyone - I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around."
"It's interesting, but we'll see who's in it for the long haul. It's like a marathon, you know?" he added.
Meanwhile, some believe that Miguel started the feud to gain publicity, which urged him to post a conciliatory statement on Twitter.
In the mean time, however, fans would have to wait for the release of Frank Ocean’s new album before they could “see” who’s the better musician.
