While fans are excited to see the Avengers back in the last installment of the franchise titled, "Avengers: Infinity War," Chris Hemsworth would have to appear first in "Thor 3" in 2017.
And while it'll still be two years from now, fans are already asking about the sequel's plot.
And since Marvel's universe is greatly connected, there are already speculations that the plot of "Thor 3" is about to set the stage for "Avengers: Infinity War," through Thano's involvement in destroying the Asgard universe.
Despite failing to confirm or deny the rumors, Marvel CEO Kevin Feige has instead promised fans that more details about "Thor 3" will be announced soon, Collider reported.
"Probably towards the end of the summer we would announce a filmmaker and a writer," he promised. "May be the same person, I don't know, may be two different people."
On that same interview, Feige also took the opportunity to clarify rumors about director Kenneth Branagh returning to the franchise.
"Not true," Feige confidently answered when asked if Branagh would return to direct "Thor 3."
"I don't know where that came from."
Meanwhile, after confirming her return to "Thor 3," Jamie Alexander, who starred alongside Chris Hemsworth in both "Thor" prequels, revealed details about her character Sif.
In an interview with LA Times, the 31-year-old actress revealed that her character, Sif, will most likely play an important role in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok."
"Marvel, I think on purpose, they don't tell me certain things," she explained when asked about how involved her character is.
"Because they know I'll be like, 'So here's what's gonna happen.' But I do know I will be in 'Thor 3' and that Sif will have a very pivotal part in that movie. I just can't tell you what because I'll get shot."
In her efforts to promote "Thor 3," she revelaed that Marvel will be giving out easter eggs in its upcoming movies including "Captain America: Civil War."
"Yeah, there's a lot of great stuff they've peppered in through 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' 'The Avengers,' 'Captain' will have some stuff. There's just all kind of Easter eggs and hints, if you're really paying attention. They're so good at interweaving everything throughout those films."
"Thor 3" is scheduled to hit theaters on July 28, 2017.
