Dentist Who Killed Cecil The Lion Closes Clinic; See [PHOTOS] Of Protestors Condemning The Man

Hundreds have gathered outside the Bloomington clinic of Walter Palmer, a dentist from Minnesota, who hunted down and killed Zimbabwe's beloved Cecil The Lion.

USA Today reported that demonstrators stood outside Palmer's office last Wednesday carrying signs that pertain to his hunting of the protected lion. Some even left stuffed animals right in front of the main entrance.

People displayed placards that read "I am Cecil," "Killer" and "Walter Palmer Kills For Fun." Other protesters called for an end to poaching and trophy hunting as well.

Palmer, who temporarily closed his business last Tuesday, reportedly received threats to his life and had to go into hiding.

He sent an email to his patients apologizing for the disruption in their appointments, adding that he had "no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt."

Meanwhile, Star Tribune revealed that US wildlife regulators have announced their intent to help Zimbabwen authorities in the investigation.

Safari Club International also suspended Palmer's membership in lieu of the situation.
