While fans failed to hear any news about "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date at E3 2015, Square Enix is reportedly finally going to make the announcement at D23 Expo.
According to IGN the giant Japanese video game developer is set to present "never-before-seen gameplay, trailers, new reveals, and surprises from Disney Interactive's most anticipated games," including "Kingdom Hearts 3."
While he didn't say anything about the release date, "Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura shared details about the gameplay.
"In addition to the Keyblade transformations for Sora, it becomes possible to maneuver using specific forms and actions. There will be many battle choices," he told Kingdom Hearts Insider.
"Take whatever strategy, it will be up to the player. Of course, for those who button mash will have an exhilarating experience but for those who want technical fights will also find fun making combinations."
Furthermore, the highly anticipated game is confirmed to have left Luminous and jumped to Unreal Engine 4, which is expected to provide better gaming experience to players.
"The technology is moving forward a lot," the game designer explained of the switch from Luminous to Unreal Engine according to Eurogamer. "That's something we've learned from the West, I think, in a big way. We're using Unreal Engine 4 right now, and that really has changed the way we make the game."
In line with the release date and gameplay news, "Kingdom Hearts 3," is reportedly going to introduce new characters from Disney's Marvel and Star Wars movies.
And while Tetsuya Nomura never really denied or confirmed the rumors, Motoring Crunch is confident that Square Enix will at least feature weapons from "Star Wars" and "Marvel" if not the characters itself.
"Even if the likes of Captain America and Obi Wan Kenobi don't make it into Kingdom Hearts 3, we feel that Square Enix might introduce the weapons from the aforementioned worlds," the gaming publication mentioned.
Adding that Sora would most likely going to "get the ability to wield a light saber," while Goofy is most likely adding boost in its defense with the help of Captain America's shield.
Moreover, Nomura teased that they will soon reveal details about the game.
"We have some interesting things planned," Tetsuya Nomura explained. "There will be Kingdom Hearts 3 news, and various things, I think. Development on Kingdom Hearts 3 is going smoothly, but there will also be new announcements connected to it. As one of those new announcements, I think we should be able to announce a smartphone-specific development for the series in short order."
