Floyd Mayweather Jr's next fight is now set.
The undefeated American welterweight boxer is schedule to fight former world champion Andre Berto on September this year.
This is just two months after he won in the mega fight against archrival Manny Pacquiao.
The man on the other side of Floyd Mayweather Jr's next fight is relatively unknown to many. This is because Andre Berto is not one of the several fighters who are vocal about their desire to fight Pretty Boy.
Among those who were eager to fight Floyd is Amir Khan. The British boxer obviously did not get the chance to fight this year's highest earning athlete. Khan know why he got turned down. He thinks Floyd Mayweather Jr is afraid of him.
"He's 100 per cent scared," Khan said in an interview with Gulf News in Dubai Tuesday. "I think Mayweather knows that I'd give him the hardest fight of his career and probably beat him.
"If Mayweather thought it was going to be an easy fight, it would have happened a long time ago."
Amir Khan also went on to explain Floyd Mayweather Jr's inhibitions in fighting him.
"Mayweather knows, stylistically, that I am the worst fight for him, because my hand speed, movement, skill, accuracy and power, is not what he needs. So Mayweather will take the easy fight and fight Berto instead of me because he knows Berto won't give him any problems, whereas Amir is young and hungry."
Floyd Mayweather Jr's next fight will be his last according to his camp.
"If he said this is his last fight, he's ending his career on a low note," Khan continued.
"Why's he not fighting me? I'm a big name, if he really thinks he can beat me, and he does, then he'll go down in history as a great fighter. It just seems to me that he doesn't need me because I'm going to cause him problems."
