Rumors about a Katherine Heigl "Grey's Anatomy" return spreads all over the internet and every fan of the TV medical drama must be thrilled but it there really truth behind it?
Following the death of Derek Sheperd (Patrick Dempsey's character) last May, some articles suggested that Katherine Heigl might make a "Grey's Anatomy" return.
Perhaps this has sparked the rumors, but unfortunately, there are no reports that Shonda Rhimes is interested in getting Izzie Stevens back in Seattle Grace Hospital.
To further crush the hopes of fans, Katherine Heigl shoots the rumors.
"There is not, I'm sorry," Heigl said to Entertainment Tonight, when asked to address the rumors that she will be returning in "Grey's Anatomy" season 12.
Nevertheless, Heigl shared her opinion on the sudden and devastating death of Derek a.k.a "McDreamy."
"I just can't imagine the show without McDreamy," Heigl said. "It's just so hard to picture."
Izzie was a staple character on the show from Seasons 1 through 6 until Katherine Heigl decided to leave back in 2010 due to intense conflicts on her personal life and her relationship with Shonda Rhimes, creator of the TV drama.
Despite that, Heigl remains grateful to Rhimes and the show that changed her life.
"This 13-year-old girl was telling me this weekend how much she loves 'Grey's Anatomy,' and I was like, 'Do you realize you were a 1-year-old when we started that show, when we did the pilot?'" Heigl said.
"It's been that long since it's been on the air and become this incredible thing. It was just an incredible experience for me. It changed the course of my life and my career, and I couldn't be more grateful. I just hope it goes for as long as they all want it to."
Although the rumors of Katherine Heigl's Grey's Anatomy return turned out to be false, the actress is doing well in terms of her career. She is currently promoting her new film "Jackie & Ryan."
