Teenage girls will surely swoon over this new "bae" on Disney's "Descendants" movie which premieres this Friday. Nineteen-year-old Mitchell Hope is an Australian actor and model who plays Prince Ben on the new Disney Channel movie.
As Mitchell Hope takes on Disney's "Descendants" movie, will he be the next Zac Efron? Let's get to know him a bit better.
As a newcomer in Hollywood, his stint on Disney's "Descendants" movie is his first project in the U.S., according to The Hollywood Reporter. He joins the other Disney actors such as "Liv and Maddie" star Dove Cameron and "Jessie" comedian Cameron Boyce.
This new Disney bae has reportedly appeared on Australian TV "where the industry is so much smaller as something on a bigger scale like Disney."
"Yeah, it's a big jump!" he shares on Tribute.ca. "It started really simply, just laying down a tape, doing a cold reading of the script and sending it over. It all started with me having 20 spare minutes and being able to go through a tape and send it over."
He further says that auditions for Disney's "Descendants" movie came out of good luck, as he was about to quit acting right before he got the audition and was ready to go back to the university.
"But my agent came along and she said, 'Just do this one last audition,' and I knew that acting was going to be something that I was always going to do, so of course I said yes," he tells Tribute.ca.
Mitchell Hope then got a call back and his agent told him to get his passport ready to Los Angeles just a day after the final auditions.
He whisked his way to Hollywood and this Friday, he is bound to grace television screens as the prince son of King Beast and Queen Belle, bound to reconcile with the teenage children of Disney's evil villains.

A joker and a pet lover
This promising Disney "Descendants" movie actor admits he is a pet lover and joker, two qualities that are rare to find from many "baes" around.
He shares in the report that he has a Rottweiler puppy left in his hometown as he shot scenes in L.A. His family also once temporarily adopted a stray dog found along the freeway.
As for his jokes, Mitchell Hope believes he is a practical joker who once mentioned "planting sunflowers in people's gardens and offering the pizza delivery guy a slice."
"Sometimes I think things get a little boring, I think we all follow the same structure that we need to, that we are told to, so sometimes just push the boundaries a little, you know?" he says in the interview report.
The next big star?
With the same "High School Musical" director taking charge over Disney's "Descendants" movie, becoming the next big Disney star is not too far-fetched.
Disney Channel's senior vice-president for casting and talent said in the report by The Hollywood Reporter, "We were intrigued by Mitchell's natural acting style, boyish charm and winning personality."
As for his next moves, Mitchell Hope said, "It's going to be a little bit of a deliberation between me and my agent and my family, deciding what's the best route for me to take."
