Netflix is taking too long to announce "Sense8" season 2 renewal. Or is it really up for a second season?
No matter what the streaming services company has in mind, executive producer J. Michael Straczynski said they do not have a plan yet. "Sense8" is a big hit this 2015 with over 800,000 Netflix users giving it an average of 4.2 out of 5 stars.
Audience approval in review site Rotten Tomatoes is also at 92%. Despite all these, Netflix is yet to confirm if the sci-fi series is going to get an extension.
"We always plan for success. In all the seasons I did of Babylon 5, we never had a 'Plan B.' There is no back-up plan," J. Michael Straczynski said when asked by ComicBook Resources what will be their next step should Netflix refuse "Sense8" season 2 renewal.
J. Michael Straczynski discussed "Sense8" season 2 renewal last month during the San Diego Comic-Con. There, he said sophomore run for "Sense8" is almost here and his crew are just waiting for Netflix to confirm it. CBR reported this first saying:
"Straczynski said that the show is up for renewal with Netflix, and he should know in the next two weeks if the streaming video company will order a second season. He said he's hopeful, though, because Netflix representatives have told him that the viewers are watching the 12-episode first season "straight through -- three, four, six times."
"Sense8" tells the story of eight strangers from different parts of the world who are emotionally and mentally linked with each other.
They faced their respective obstacles with the help of other Sense8 members. "Sense8" cast include Jamie Clayton as Nomi Marks, a trans woman and hacktivist living in San Francisco, Brian J. Smith as Chicago police officer Will Gorski, Miguel ángel Silvestre as closeted Mexican Lito Rodriguez, Aml Ameen as the African driver Capheus, Tina Desai as Kala Dandekar, a university-educated pharmacist, Bae Doona as Sun Bak, daughter of a Korean businessman, Tuppence Middleton as Icelandic DJ Riley Blue, and Max Riemelt as Wolfgang Bogdanow from Berlin.
Netflix should confirm "Sense8" season 2 renewal, happening or not?
