Randy Travis arrested and charged with a misdemeanor assault, pleaded not guilty in a Plano, Texas, courtroom on Friday, according to reports.
According to TMZ, Randy Travis appeared in a Plano, Texas, courtroom to face simple assault charges for an alleged brawl with the estranged husband of his fiancée. Travis was cited in late August after he allegedly got involved in an argument between his girlfriend and her estranged husband. A court date's been set for March 11.
Randy Travis' attorneys, Pete Schulte and Larry Friedman, say they're anxiously awaiting March 11 - if nothing else, to clear their client's name and prove what really happened the night of August 23.
"I am looking forward to the trial for the truth to be exposed in this matter," says Schulte. "Mr. Travis is not guilty of this accusation."

Randy Travis' arrest came just weeks after he was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after he was found lying naked near his wrecked car on a north Texas highway. According to a police report, police accused him of threatening to shoot and kill the troopers investigating the case.
Travis faces a maximum $500 fine for the alleged misdemeanor and no jail time.
Schulte said Travis has been doing well since, and said his client was upbeat on Friday as he left court. "He turned and wished everybody who was there a merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year," Schulte said.
Travis announced last month that he has "officially eliminated alcohol from his everyday life."
