STAR Labs has been destroyed, Prof. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is gone. When "The Flash" season 2 release date comes, he won't be there for his old crew.

Does this mean Barry Allen's improvement as the Flash will also be halted delayed? The Scarlet Speedster will continue striving to become the fastest man alive even if his previous mentor is gone. In fact, he will get a new one, someone who has more experience about running.

Previous "The Flash" season 2 spoiler said Grant Gustin's title role is going to get a new mentor. Details were were kept secret before but after revealing that a speedster from the past is set to appear in the show, it became clearer who this new mentor will be. Fans do not have to wait for "The Flash" season 2 release date to come to know who Flash will work with.

"As the season aims to explore Barry finessing his powers, Jay Garrick's arrival is "going to have an impact on everybody on Team Flash," according to Danielle Panabaker. "He's going to be a very cool mentor to Barry and he's going to help Barry expand his powers and the things that he's capable of doing," Entertainment Weekly wrote when a fan asked for a "The Flash" season 2 spoiler.

Jay Garrick, to be played in the show by Teddy Sears, is the first ever speedster who kept on running until he finds Barry Allen in the present day. This speedster was first foreshadowed in the show's first season finale through his signature helmet. His arrival in CW Network's "The Flash" was first confirmed during the San Diego Comic-Con last month. Jay Garrick's first live action appearance is in Smallville and was played by Billy Mitchell.

Second season of "The Flash" will pick up shortly from where it left off in the second season wherein Eddie Thawne (Rick Costnett) deliberately killed himself to erase main villain Reverse Flash from existence.

"The Flash" season 2 release date is October 6.
