While Disney seemed to be very busy with its big movies like "Star Wars" and Marvel movie line-up, it's been reported that the giant studio company is also eyeing on reviving "Indiana Jones."
Apparently, following his impressive performance in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" and Paramount's "Jurassic World," Chris Pratt is most likely going to replace Harrison Ford as the new Indy in "Indiana Jones 5."
While she did not mention anything about Pratt taking on the lead role, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy apparently confirmed the revival of "Indiana Jones" in an interview with Vanity Fair.
"When it will happen, I'm not quite sure," Kennedy told Vanity Fair of the "Indiana Jones 5" movie. "We haven't started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it."
There's news claiming that Disney is planning a great future with the action-packed adventure franchise, thus they are looking for an actor who can continue the franchise for a long time.
"Regarding Harrison Ford, two more Indiana Jones features are in the negotiation stages as per Ford's contract clause on 'Star Wars,' which is the primary reason he didn't 'publicly' or 'privately' commit, or so I'm told," a source told MarketSaw back in February last year.
A source of Showbizspy added that "Disney is looking at its long-term options for the 'Indiana Jones' franchise. "They feel that the series has huge potential on many levels, starting with the films leading to other spin-offs like games which can generate more money than movies."
And while news claiming that Harrison Ford would unlikely be appearing in "Indiana Jones 5," Rolling Stone reported that Harrison Ford "hasn't ruled out returning to the 'Indiana Jones' franchise."
Meanwhile, "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt, who has been constantly involved with the sequel has tried to play coy despite rampant rumors.
In his appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the 35-year-old actor was questioned about his involvement with movie.
"Interesting...I don't remember going over that....I don't know, that's....this movies is...to get to your question, Jurassic World opens on June 12," he answered.
And while he did not recall any casting call, he teased that he might actually have been given a call but he has unfortunately missed it.
"Well, I have no answer to it, I don't know," he quipped. "I mean, no one has....I missed a phone call the other day, unknown number. I hope it wasn't him."
TMZ previously questioned Pratt about his involvement with "Indiana Jones 5" as well.
"We can't assume it's confirmed yet, but you are in talks right?" TMZ cameraman asked Pratt.
"I do...No. That's the problem... I don't know, I might be, I just got back from the woods killing a bunch of stuff," he confusedly answered the question.
