As 'Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain' Nears Release Date Hideo Kojima & Konami Feud Is Heating Up

| By

With less than two months to its release date, it seems like "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" creator Hideo Kojima's feud with Konami is still heating up.

The highly anticipated and equally controversial video game is set to hit the shelves in September, however while everything seems to be right on schedule, there's been a report claiming that Konami has once again decided to remove all references to "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" to its creator Hideo Kojima.

"The latest pack shots were uploaded yesterday, and NeoGAF users spotted a couple of changes appear to have been made," IGN reported. "You can see the old box art below on the left, with the new one on the right. In the bottom left of each cover the Kojima Productions logo has been removed, while "A Hideo Kojima Game" is also absent from just below the console masthead."

Konami previously said in a statement that they are working to resolve the issues between the gaming company and famed game creator Hideo Kojima, however with how the events are unfolding, it seems like nothing has been resolved yet.

Contrary to Kojima's previous claim that he will remain involved with "MGSVTPP" until the end, it looks like his actual involvement is very limited based on the new update.

"I want to reassure fans that I am 100% involved and will continue working on 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain,' I'm determined to make it the greatest game I've directed to date. Don't miss it!" Hideo Kojima previously said of his involvement with the game.

Through an official statement released by Konami at Kotaku, the giant gaming company even said that Kojima's exit to the company will no way affect the release of "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain."

"In accordance with the recent change in production organization of all of Konami, Kojima Productions, as well as other internal production companies, has had its name, etc., changed to move into the corporate headquarters work structure."

"The name and organization has changed, but as before, MGSV: TPP is continuing as a work from director Kojima and the existing team members."

Adding, "The social networking account has also been changed, but the new account has the same Metal Gear team members as the previous one, and is updating with the latest news. As the team members who are tweeting is unchanged, we would like your continued support and follows."

Konami even assured fans that "director Kojima is playing the game [Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain], checking all the small details and giving directions to the staff as the title continues to completion. Bringing the thoughts and ideas of director Kojima in an open world game of the size of TPP is incredibly difficult, the director and the team that's been there from the start are coming together as one as they aim to finish the game, so please give them the support they need."

"Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" release date is slated on Sept. 1, 2015
