Funimation confirmed that the "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection Of F" movie will have an exclusive US premiere on August 03, ahead of its North American screening.

It will be held at the AMC Empire 25 located in the 42nd Street Entertainment Center in New York City. The special event will be attended by Seán Schemmel and Christopher R. Sabat, who played the role of Goku and Vegeta

"New York City is home to one of our biggest fan communities and was one of our top cities with last year's Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods," said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of FUNimation.

"We're pleased to bring the U.S. premiere to them as we launch our August 4 - 12 limited theatrical event of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F.'"

The exclusive premiere will be followed by the official launch of the movie in North America. It will be screened in more than 1,000 theatres in the US and Canada starting August 04-12.

Yahoo News added that Funimation included a 15-minute "DBZ" themed pre-show on the movie which includes "exclusive cast interviews discussing Frieza's revival and his role in the Dragon Ball Z series" and "interactive trivia show featuring the English cast and crew."

"Fans will be able to play along in real-time, using their mobile phone and the hashtag #DBZRF on Twitter. Winners will be picked from across the U.S. and Canada throughout the entire theatrical run."

Though the 19th "Dragon Ball" movie franchise was shown in Japan in 2D, 3D, IMAX and even 4DX, US and Canada moviegoers will be only treated with the 2D version, VC Post wrote.

Meanwhile, tickets are now up for pre-order at www.dragonballz.com website, and Funimation urges moviegoers to buy their tickets "as early as possible" since tickets are limited.

"We encourage fans to purchase tickets as early as possible to ensure they don't miss the opportunity to experience the movie in theaters; as well as join others in our interactive trivia contest as part of the special pre-show."
