"Beauty And The Beast" star Emma Watson has been taking on more mature roles in thriller films lately and it seems that drama has followed her in real life, too.
According to The Sun (via E! News), two studio employees made plans to kidnap the British star while she filmed for Walt Disney Studio's latest live-action adaptation.
A taxi driver reportedly overheard the said staff members talking about either abducting or stealing from the world star. He promptly reported the incident to management, subsequently alerting the studio staff as well.
"They said the two studio staff travelling in the cab were chatting a foreign language, unaware that the driver could understand every word," a source allegedly told the newspaper.
According to the studio's statement released recently, there was no threat of any kind to the production of "Beauty And The Beast" or Emma Watson.
"The story was looked into by production and found to be unsubstantiated and untrue," a spokesperson for the film studio announced via Vogue UK last Monday.
The Daily Mail also managed to confirm from police that they received no call for help about the said situation. Nevertheless, security the Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England - where filming was taking place - was said to have tightened after the taxi driver's report.
According to the site, filming for her past movie, "Noah", had also been halted because an obsessed fan managed to break into the set. However, the Brown University graduate still maintains a relatively normal lifestyle - going to museums with friends and watching an open-ground concert with them as well - despite being popular worldwide.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old beauty will be starring in three thriller films in the near future.
She will be appearing as a young woman with a troubled past in "Regression". Fans wll then see her transform into a desperate wife who will do everything to save her husband, including joining a cult, in "Colonia".
Another thriller in her list of upcoming movies is "The Circle", where she's set to appear with Hollywood legend Tom Hanks.
Ironically, "Beauty And Beast" will be Emma Watson's least action-packed film compared to her other future films.
