Now is the time for your furry ones to get a luxurious treat as a terminal for pets is now under construction at the John F. Kenney Airport in New York.
Called "The ARK at JFK," this luxury terminal for pets is filled with wondrous treatments for your pets, some are hardly imaginable. According to a report by City Lab, penguins are reserved for their own privacy suits with climate-controlled stalls, showers and spa.
Not only this, passengers can also expect to see horses, birds, pets and livestock making their own at the terminal for pets as it reportedly opens in 2016.
"ARK Development, LLC, a Racebrook Portfolio Company, is currently developing The ARK at JFK, a comprehensive multi-purpose animal handling and air cargo facility at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport," the construction company website said.
"Under a 30-year lease with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, The ARK at JFK has been conceived as the world's only privately owned animal terminal and USDA-approved, full-service, 24-hour, airport quarantine facility for import and export of horses, pets, birds and livestock," it added.
According to CNN, the terminal for pets will have a veterinary hospital that provides general and emergency care services such as surgery and diagnostics.
It will also house a pet resort that will include a bone-shaped dog pool, pet suits with television screens and a gym for cats.
A spot at the terminal for pets will also have obedience training and pet massage therapy sessions, the report further said.
Flyers will be able to get their dogs to the resort at the terminal for pets for $50 per day, according to City Lab.
"The animal terminal will set new international airport standards for comprehensive veterinary, kenneling and quarantine services," Ark founder and Racebrook Chairman John J. Cuticelli Jr. mentioned in the CNN report.
