Ed Sheeran's friendship with Rixton's Jake Roche and Little Mix' Jesy Nelson isn't exactly famous. What's quite known, however, is Sheeran's partiality to helping people propose to their loved ones.
He even shocked a couple by singing for them on their wedding day.
It's not a surprise then that the British singer was more than willing to help his friends get engaged during a break from his "Multiply" world tour.
"A year ago today I met her at Manchester Arena, so it was only right, with a little help from my friend, that this happened," Roche captioned a photo of himself kneeling in front of his now-fiance with Sheeran performing in the background on Instagram.
He added, "Best day of my life."
Ed Sheeran's private and very special performance for Jake Roche and Jesy Nelson wasn't quite free, however.
"Travelled 5 hours to sing our favourite song on his day off. I will never ever be able to repay you. Love you pal. @edsheeran," Roche expressed his gratitude to the singer on Twitter.
Sheeran replied that it was his "absolute pleasure", also adding "Thanks for the KFC."
KFC aside, it looks like the “Photograph” singer is a sucker for romance. He once admitted to a radio show that his parents’ and grandparents’ loving relationship is pressuring him to also meet the love of his life some day.
This same notion could explain the sentiment behind his biggest hit song, "Thinking Out Loud".
Ed Sheeran's friends Jake Roche and Jesy Nelson aren't his only celebrity friends who are engaged. Zayn Malik, who is a former member of One Direction (which is also close to the red-headed singer), has been engaged to Nelson's fellow Little Mix member Perrie Edwards since 2013.
Even his BFF, Taylor Swift looks happily in love with her new beau, Scottish DJ Calvin Harris.
