Green Day Ready To Record New Songs For Album! Release Date Expected Next Year

| By

After their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Green Day is expected to release a new album.

And while the American punk rock band has yet to reveal any details as to when their new record would hit the shelves, there have been reports claiming that it's coming next year.

Green Day has reportedly finished making "few songs" to be recorded in their new album even before their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.

After getting recognized with the prestigious organization, the band is reportedly not only working on a new album but a tour as well.

According to Green Day's frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong, they've ended their hiatus and they are "just blown away" with their recognition.

"There's definitely a great spirit going on," Armstrong told Billboard of their new album. "We've always been pretty charged up. Before we found any of this out, I had already written a few songs and everybody was really excited by them. And then we heard about the Hall of Fame, and we were just blown away."

In line with the confirmation of their new album, Green Day is however not in a hurry releasing it. The trio is determined to bring great selection of songs to their fans as a way of paying gratitude.

"Yeah, I mean, we're going to take our time," he explained. "We're not going to try and pull off some, like, victory lap over this because I definitely want the music to come from a real place and be inspired, not just because we got honored or anything like that, but because we're honoring music. We want to work on them, and we want to make a great album."

And in the same interview, Billie Joe Armstrong has also expressed his appreciation to his bandmates, whom he did not just share his music with, but life as well.

"Well, even people that would be our contemporaries, a lot of these guys would be in their fifties already. But we started young. This is my high school band, and we just kept going. So there's been a lot of life within the time period that we've been around. We're really fortunate in that way."
