Can't take anymore Jimmy-Gretchen romance withdrawal?
Don't panic because after almost an eternity, FX has finally revealed "You're the Worst" season 2 premiere date. Chris Geere and Aya Cash will return to television on Sept. 9 at 11pm ET, right after another sitcom "The League."
The second season of the critically acclaimed "You're the Worst" will now air on FXX, the sister network of FX Network.
What are the things to expect when "You're the Worst" season 2 premiere arrives? The romance between lead characters will continue but new challenges will arise.
More importantly, the show will have a new tone. Last month, series creator Stephen Falk said the second season will be a lot darker, but still funny, compared to its freshman year.
"This season gets weirder and darker. We are going to be tackling a BIG issue and it's not an issue that's necessarily funny; it's kind of the opposite (laughs)," Falk said at the ATX Festival panel.
"We're tackling that from the beginning of the second act, which I consider episode five all the way through. It's something when I pitched season to [FX boss] John Landgraf and team, they were understandably a little cautions but never tried to get me to back off it. They gently reminded me to make sure it was still fun, and I think we've found a way to do it."
Also expected when "You're the Worst" season 2 premiere airs are supporting characters getting more exposure. Desmin Borges And Kether Donohue, who play Edgar Quintero and Lindsay Jillian, respectively, will have a bigger role in the second season. There is also a possibility they will end up as a new love ship.
"I think as much as he can. It's just that normal, pedestrian life is still weird for him. So as much as he can with his idiosyncrasies, try to develop feelings I think we see," Borges said in an interview with TV Line.
Watch out for more scoop before the arrival of "You're the Worst" season 2 premiere.
