‘Dragon Ball’ Trading Game Announced By Bandai Namco! Features ‘Dragon Ball Super’ Characters

Bandai Namco announced another addition to its "Dragon Ball" games- the "IC Carddass Dragonball."

The newest franchise was will be a trading card game and will feature a near field communication (NFC) chip embedded in every card.

"Each deck will contain a single leader card, and 40 battle cards that comprise a player's deck. Players use battle cards to attack and call allied characters, dealing damage to his opponent's leader card. As a player's leader card takes damage, it will eventually be flipped into an "Awakened" mode, strengthening the card." (via Anime News Network)

The game will then be playable through a smartphone, tablet, or Windows PC app in which is scanned through the devices' NFC feature or a special USB card reader for Windows PC and will be automatically added on player's digital card database.

Fans of the "Dragon Ball Super" might want to check this trading card game as it will feature playable characters from the hit TV series in Japan. Some characters were revealed to include Super Saiyan God Goku, the Gof of Destruction Beerus, along with Gohan, Vegeta, and Piccolo.

According to iDigital Times, the starter pack which contains 41 cards with a USB card reader will cost 3,240 yen (about US$26), while a package without the USB reader priced at 1,620 yen (US$13).

There will also be Booster packs at 216 yen (US$1.70), and costs 200 yen (US$1.60) when bought on vending machines. But players must note that these booster packs will contain different cards.

"IC Carddass Dragon Ball" will be launched on September 19 in Japan, while there are no words from Bandai Namco if it will get a Western release too.
