Series of rumors have sprawled about Microsoft's next Lumia flagship. The Redmond tech giant was reportedly on the works of two alleged flagship devices dubbed as "Cityman" and "Talkman," as their specs have leaked several times confirming their existence.
New reports also claim that Microsoft has dropped off the Lumia 940 name, and skipped to Lumia 950.
As the new name surfaces, new leaks have made headlines too. According to ItHome.com will sport a 5.2-inch 2K resolution screen and will powered by a six-core Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with a 3GB of RAM and a 3,000 mAh removable battery. (via Tech Radar )
On the other hand, the larger Lumia 950 XL comes with a larger 5.7-inch screen with the same 2K resolution, and has an octa-core Snapdragon 810 CPU. It will have the same RAM as the Lumia 950 and has a powerful battery of 3,300mAh battery.
The leaked specs went on that these devices will pack a 32GB onboard storage which might be expanded via a microSD expansion. Camera-wise they will be equipped with a 20MP main camera and a 5MP front camera.
It was also previously rumored that the upcoming flagships will sport the new USB Type-C port, which OnePlus had already claimed that they are the first to use this type of technology on a smartphone.
Other rumored specs include an iris scanner for its biometric authentication and a portable- this feature might function like on the Motorola Atrix, reports claim.
If the rumors are to be believed, it was interesting to note that Microsoft has revamped its Lumia series. It is said that both handsets will sport a premium design of slim full metal unibodies.
As for their release date, it was said that the upcoming Lumia 950/950 XL will be launched some time in October or November. ( via WMPowerUser)
