Sam and Dean Winchester's father figure, Bobby Singer, came back for a cameo last season. Is it time for their real father to come back for "Supernatural" season 11?
According to Jeffrey Dean Morgan, he's all for it.
"I would absolutely love to come back," he recently told TV Line.
Although he was quick to add that there has been still "no official talk" yet, the "The Good Wife" star admitted that he's still in constant contact with his "very good friends" Jensen Ackles (Dean) and Jared Padalecki (Sam).
The actor further shared that the main problem for his possible cameo next season is his scheduling, though he still hoped that writers can still "write something that I can do."
He added, "It would be a great joy to go back and play with those guys."
In fact, Morgan still believes that John Winchester will definitely have to return and it's just a matter of time before he gets summoned back to the set.
"When's the right time? When it's going to be for maximum impact? What you don't want to do is bring a character like that back and waste the opportunity," he continued.
However, Morgan has one request for his possible "Supernatural" season 11 return.
"I would love to have Jensen direct me, honestly," he told the site. "I think that would be a very cool deal. That's always what I've been pushing for."
However, Ackles already worked on the episode he would be directing for this season, "Bad Seed". With his current rate of one episode per season, Morgan would have to wait for the show's 12th year if he wants to work with Jensen Ackles as the director in addition to acting with him on screen.
Do you think John Winchester should come back for "Supernatural" season 11, even just for a cameo?
