While its success came as a surprise for DreamWorks, a "How To Train Your Dragon 3" is reportedly on its way to cinemas in the future.
Despite previous setbacks with its development, there are new reports claiming as to what fans should expect about the sequels plot.
"How to Train Your Dragon 3" will reportedly take place three years after the events of the second film. According to Movie News Guide the sequel's plot is definitely going to be a "tearjerker," focusing on the story of Hiccup and Toothless as they embark on their new adventures.
Latinos Health added that the plot of the dragon-themed animated movie from DreamWorks closely resembles that of "Toy Story 3."
Fans will reportedly get the same feeling they got from "Toy Story 3," where Woody and Buzz had to continue their adventures, but this time without their old pal Andy.
Apparently, "How to Train Your Dragon 3" the plot will see less of Hiccup as he becomes an adult, while Toothless will be left in his own adventure.
Furthermore, Latinos Health added that the sequel will somehow end where the original book reportedly began.
"We are gonna take the story to where the books begin, which is Hiccup as an adult reflecting back on a time where there were dragons, suggesting that the dragons will in some way go away. Why and could they come back and the mystery of what all that is will be saved for the actual story," writer-director Dean DeBlois said.
Alternatively, Dean DeBlois claimed that "How to Train Your Dragon 3" could also feature the story of Drago Bludvist, which was never discussed in previous movies.
"How to Train Your Dragon 3" was previously slated for June 17, 2016 release date, but it was pushed back until June 29, 2018. Apparently, DreamWorks is not going to take its chances by going head to head to Pixar's "Finding Dory," Screen Rant reported.
