Soon after "GOW 3" remastered version was launched in E3 2015, Microsoft has decided to announce that "Gears of War 4" is coming,
While details about the full version's release date has yet to be announced, the giant studio revealed that the beta version for "GOW 4" is going to be available in a limited release on Spring of next year.
According to, Games Radar, owners of Gears of War: Ultimate Editions Xbox One console bundle are going to be able to download the "God of War 4" beta version for free.
While most Xbox One users need to wait until Microsoft announces the official release date of "Gears of War 4," Xbox head Phil Spencer assured gamers that new GM Rod Ferguson, who's spearheading the development is giving "Gears of War 4" "massive progress."
"The thing that was great about the early Gears of War games, to me, [was] just the epic scale of the settings that I was in," Spencer toldGame Spot. "The story, the setting was a lot more what I would call soulful and maybe even a little dark. And [Rod Fergusson] and I have talked about this; I think the game over time became almost more of a parody of itself; not for any kind of horrible reasons. It's hard to continue to manage the IP."
Furthermore, Spencer clarified rumors claiming that "Gears of War 4" would most likely be released as a reboot, instead he explained that the fourth installment to third-person alien vs human shooting game is still a sequel.
"I wouldn't call it a reboot, because I don't think the franchise necessarily needs that," he explained.
Adding, "I think we can make sure that we're investing in this thing for the next decade, which is how I want to think about it. The thing that was great about the early Gears of War games, to me, [was] just the epic scale of the settings that I was in. I think the story and the setting and what they're going through in a Gears of War-the name of the game, it really meant something to what that game was about. We've got to get back to that. The feeling of those individuals."
Just like the "GOW 3" remastered version, "Gears of War 4" is going to be availble on Xbox One consoles only, Black Tusk Studios developer Jack Felling announced.
"No, sorry, it won't be available on the 360, but it will be available for the Xbox One," he answered a fan on Twitter.
