And while it's most likely the most of the cast members in "FF7" will return for "Furious 8," there have been reports claiming that the car-chase crime fighting franchise will bring back a well-loved character.
Eva Mendes, who played the role of secret agent Monica Fuentes in "2 Fast 2 Furious" is now being rumored to be returning in the franchise.
Mendes was once the love interest of Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Conner. Now that the franchise has lost Walker through a tragic car accident, it's not clear how Mendes would fit into the story.
However, according to Breathecast, a number of publications who are claiming Mendes' return, said that she is now going to "stir up" the relationship of Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Dominic (Vin Diesel).
Eva Mendes has yet to release a statement about her supposed involvement in "Fast & Furious 7" sequel though.
Meanwhile, Jason Statham, who appeared in the latest installment as the new bad guy named Deckard Shaw, is also confirmed to participate in the eight movie.
"We're already talking about doing another one, part eight," Statham told Access Hollywood. "I'm a newcomer. I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it's nice to know I'm going to be doing another."
Together with Statham, reports also suggest that Paul Walker's brother, Cody Walker, who played as a double to Walker's character, is returning to "Fast & Furious 7" sequel in an unknown role.
Apparently, Cody is interested to pursue an acting career after his experience with the "Fast & Furious," this is also a way to continue the legacy of his brother, Paul.
"I'm not sure if they are going to make an eighth movie, but if they did, I'm sure he would entertain a conversation (about a role)," he told NYDailyNews according to Enstarz.
IB Times on the other hand claimed that Cody could play someone who's related to Brian O'Conner's.
Mail Online added that Cody could indeed "join the crew."
"Paul's character Brian O'Conner will be seen retiring, while his younger brother will join the crew as a new character. Cody isn't a replacement for Paul in any way. It would be a tribute to Paul that Cody carries on the Walker name in the Fast and The Furious movies."
