Runaways bandmate Jackie Fox recently came forth with allegations that she was raped by producer Kim Fowley in front of other people after she had been given several Quaaludes, according to People.
Fox, also known as Jackie Fuchs, has continued to be applauded by many in the public after coming forth with the recent allegation.
“Jackie has done FAR more for women by speaking out than the Runaways ever did,” stated The Go-Gos’ Kathy Valentine, according to Yahoo News.
Fox’s allegation was reportedly shared with the public in a piece by The Huffington Post. The 55-year-old reportedly alleged that Fowley raped her in front of her bandmates, including guitarist Joan Jett and Cherri Currie.
“You don’t know what terror is until you realize something bad is about to happen to you and you can’t move a muscle,” Fox told The Huffington Post.
Multiple witnesses were reportedly interviewed for the piece.
“It turned into this really disgusting Grand Guignol-like theater performance that he put on,” one witness, Kari Krome, stated.
“And Jackie was dead, dead, dead drunk — like corpse drunk. She was just laying down on her back, sound asleep, out of it.”
Joan Jett reportedly released a statement that she didn’t know about the alleged incident.
“Anyone who truly knows me understands that if I was aware of a friend or bandmate being violated, I would not stand by while it happened,” stated 56-year-old Jett, in a statement to Yahoo.
“For a group of young teenagers thrust into ‘70s rock stardom there were relationships that were bizarre, but I was not aware of this incident. Obviously Jackie’s story is extremely upsetting and although we haven’t spoken in decades, I wish her peace and healing.”
