Kevin Durant trade? If it is Charles Barkley who will be asked, he would rather see the one time NBA MVP stay with Oklahoma City Thunder until he retires.
Over the past months, there were rumors KD35 will move away from OKC. Among the teams who want him or linked to him are his childhood team Washington Wizards, recent champions Golden State Warriors, and popular franchise Los Angeles Lakers.
"I hope he stays in OKC," Barkley said of Kevin Duran while speaking with CSN Washington. "I would love it because he's a terrific player and a terrific kid, I would love to see him stay in OKC his entire career."
"But you know, man, these guys do what they want to do. I wish them all the best, but for some reason they all want to play in big cities like you're going to be more famous winning in a certain city. If you win a championship in Cleveland, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, you're going to be just as big. So, I hope he stays in Oklahoma City. I wish him nothing but the best. I just hope he gets healthy."
No Kevin Durant trade news for now. He is just coming off a season-long injury which led to OKC missing the playoffs for the first time in five years.
Looks like teams waiting for Kevin Durant trade will be heartbroken though. Those who are hoping to snatch him in free agency will fail, too.
According to a report by CBSSports.com's Ken Berger, most executives are not that optimistic in getting the services of the 26-year old small forward.
"Most league execs informally polled here at Summer League expect Durant to stay in Oklahoma City when he hits the market next summer. There are only a handful of teams that can legitimately think they're an option. The Lakers, the Mavs and the Wizards (in Durant's hometown) are in the mix, for starters."
