Samsung Galaxy A8 Release Date In S. Korea All Set On July 24; See Specs & Features Of The World’s Thinnest Smartphone

Samsung has been unstoppable when it comes to innovation, from the first manufacturer of curved screen phones and now to the slimmest devices.

The Korean tech company has recently launched the slimmest smartphone to date-the Samsung Galaxy A8 followed by the slimmest tablets the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 with two size variants of 9.7inch and 8.0inch.

Specs-wise, the Samsung galaxy A8 sports an elegant metal and glass design with a 5.7-in HD Super AMOLED display and boasts a 5.9mm thick. It is powered by a eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with a 2GB of RAM. It has a 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, while hefty battery capacity of 3,050mAh keeps the phone running for hours.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 also packs a 16MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP front snapper. It is currently available in black, white or gold.

Other notable features include 128GB microSD expansion, 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 and 4G LTE support. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. (via ValueWalk)

As for the Samsung Galaxy A8 release in S. Korea, it will be officially launched on July 24 and will be available at SKT for 649,000 Korean won ($563) and color options include white and gold. (via GSM Arena)

The device is also available in China for pre-order at $500 for the 16GB variant and $550 for the 32GB with complete with "China's user habits and a custom localisation page".

It will also be available for retail in Singapore, though official release date is yet to be announced, while it was already confirmed that it won't be launching in the UK, The Inquirer reported.
