'Wonder Woman' Star Gal Gadot To Have A Smaller Role In 'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice' After Being Criticized In The New Trailer?

| By

It's no secret that Gal Gadot's casting as the new Wonder Woman has been highly controversial, which has been criticized by many of the purist.

Despite the criticisms, Warner Bros. has decided to stick to the Israeli-born model turned actress and now, the time has finally come where the public was able to get to see a glimpse of the new amazonian princess in the lastest "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" comic-con trailer.

And while many were left satisfied about Gal Gadot's performance as the new Wonder Woman, famed comic book writer Grant Morrison thinks otherwise.

Morrison, who wrote the graphic novel "Wonder Woman: Earth One" as a way to re-introduce the character to modern audiences, strongly believed that the latest footage which showed Wonder Woman has betrayed creator William Marston's intentions for the character.

In an interview with Nerdist Morrison openly expressed his disappointed in Gal Gadot's performance.

"[The warrior woman thing is] not what [Wonder Woman creator] William Marston wanted, that's not what he wanted at all!" said Morrison. "His original concept for Wonder Woman was an answer to comics that he thought were filled with images of blood-curdling masculinity, and you see the latest shots of Gal Gadot in the costume, and it's all sword and shield and her snarling at the camera. Marston's Diana was a doctor, a healer, a scientist."

In an earlier interview with Ynet in March, the 29-year-old actress, who previously starred in "Fast & Furious 6" has defended herself from the critics who claims that she's "too skinny" and that her "boobs were too small" to play the amazonian princess.

"I understand that part of what I'm doing means being exposed," Gadot told Israeli website Ynet. "And part of being exposed is being under fire."

In a previous interview with MTV, Amy Adams, who's returning to play the role of Lois Lane in "Batman V Superamn: Dawn of Justice" defended Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot from critics.

"Well, I was doing a Superman [movie] - my part is mostly there," Adams explained. "But it was really fun to get to play with these other characters that were coming in, and get to have Gal [Gadot] there, and get to have another girl on set."

While "Man of Steel" cast Adams revealed that she had a great time playing with the new characters in "Batman Vs Superman" movie, she failed to confirm if fans would see her with either Batman or Wonder Woman.

"I can't really say!" Adams insisted. "But I will say that Gal looks really, really good in that costume. I was like, really? They make them like you? That's awesome... For you. I'm really happy for you. Not so much for me. But, Lois is a mortal."

Apparently, Gal Gadot's role as Wonder Woman is going to get a smaller part in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."

According to Kpopstarz, Gadot, who's done filming scenes from the movie is reportedly not doing any major fight scenes.

"According to reported rumors, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman hasn't buffed herself up enough yet for the Wonder Woman part. She will reportedly be in for at least one full year to achieve the Amazon Princess' physique. Gal Gadot has been documenting her progress on Twitter," the publication reported.

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is scheduled to open on March 25, 2016, while "Wonder Woman" standalone film is set to hit theaters on June 23. 2017.
