New heroes and Barry Allen's new powers is not the only reason why "The Flash" season 2 release date should come now.
Based on the words of Carlos Valdes who plays the funny and geeky Cisco, the second season will feature "much more interesting villains."
Last season, it was Reverse Flash who punished the fastest man alive and his friends. Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) also comes out from time to time.
"I know what happens and I can't talk about it," Carlos Valdes told Zap2it during an interview at San Diego Comic-Con. "I will say that villains in Season 2 will come about in a very different and much more interesting way."
For this season, there is more big bad namely Zoom and Atom Smasher. Reverse Flash and Gorilla Grodd is also expected to return. It is not said though whether Cavanagh's will be seen right when "The Flash" season 2 release date hits.
While the villains are already piling up, and more expected to be announced before "The Flash" season 2 release date arrives, the team will start with some of their friends missing. In season one finale, Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) sacrificed his life to make Reverse Flash, his supposed relative from the future, vanish.
Harrison Wells is also gone for a moment since it was his body that Reversed Flash dwelled on for many years. Although the show confirmed that Tom Cavanagh will return, Grant Gustin confirmed second season will start without Barry's mentor. Also, the Scarlet Speedster will struggle with everything that happened in the finale.
"He's feeling responsible for a lot of the devastation that occurred in the finale. He's receiving all this acclaim for being the hero for Central City," Gustin explained. "He doesn't feel like he deserves it because he knows that Eddie [Rick Cosnett] stopped Wells [Tom Cavanagh] and Eddie was the hero that day. [Barry] is in a pretty dark place right now."
"I think it's going to be really interesting to figure out what they do without Wells or does a new mentor figure step in? Does Caitlin or Cisco step up or that kind of thing?" Danielle Panabaker offers. "It's going to be a cool journey."
"The Flash" season 2 released date is October 6.
