‘CSI’ Finale Special Will Not Have Julie Finlay And Nick Stokes! Did Finlay Die In The Season 15 Finale?

| By

It was a long time coming, but when the "CSI" cancellation was announced, fans of the long-running crime show felt sad for its upcoming end. Thankfully, CBS will be giving its avid followers a "CSI" finale special which will bring in several familiar faces from the series' long history.

According to TV Guide, William Petersen will be getting in the yellow tape once again as the original department chief Gil Grissom. His partner in crime-solving, Marg Helgenberger, will be making an appearance as Catherine Willows as well.

Paul Guilfoyle (Jim Brass) who left the show after the 14th season will also be coming back, as well as Melinda Clarke, who played the dominatrix Lady Heather.

The current cast, Ted Danson (D.B. Russell), Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle), Jon Wellner (Henry Andrews), David Berman (David Phillips), Wallace Langham (David Hodges), Robert David Hall (Dr. Al Robbins), Elisabeth Harnois (Morgan Brody), and Eric Szmanda (Greg Sanders) will also be joining the "CSI" finale special.

Notably absent on the list, however, is George Eads, who had been playing Nick Stokes since the show's pilot episode 15 years ago. Fans may remember that he took the post as the CSI chief in San Diego during the season 15 finale.

TVLine reported that he, unfortunately, won't be coming back for the reunion episode.

Likewise, Entertainment Weekly also revealed that Elisabeth Shue won't be reprising the role of blood splatter specialist, Julie Finlay. In last season's finale, she was left in a coma after becoming the last victim of the Gig Harbor killer.

Although the entertainment site noted that producers still don't know how to address Shue's absence for the CSI finale special, the most logical storyline would be her eventual death. On the other hand, she could still be in a coma during the finale's timeline.

Who do you want to see the most in the reunion episode?
