The last time we saw Sam and Dean Winchester, they were being eaten up by the Darkness which they unwittingly unleashed during last season's finale.
Thankfully, they won't be in too much danger when "Supernatural" season 11 resumes this October.
According to Jared Padalecki, who plays younger brother Sam, the Winchesters were saved from being fully consumed by the Darkness thanks to Dean's baby Impala.
"The boys are in the car, so they are a little protected from the darkness and the smoke," he revealed to Zap2It. "We find out that something happened to them that we were obviously not expecting so they get torn apart a little bit and then brought back together."
Thinking that they're responsible for the newly unleashed villain, the brothers will be looking for a way to get rid of the new evil in town. This latest quest for "Supernatural" season 11 will reportedly bring them closer together, unlike the previous seasons where tension was thick between the two.
"From the boys perspective, there is no getting around the fact that for want of saving one another they released it," executive producer Jeremy Carver told Zap2it during Comic Con. "They are more united than ever with the idea of 'We broke it so we gotta fix it.'"
This time, though, it seems that they won't be doing it alone.
"There's going to be a certain amount of time where not just the boys, but angels and demons, are going to try to figure out who is the Darkness? What does the Darkness want? How powerful is the Darkness?" Carver teased.
"The Darkness is something of a bed time story that you heard but to actually be dealing with it puts all of the animals of the kingdom on high alert."
Meanwhile, fans made Jared Padalecki emotional during the Comic Con panel when they held up lighted tea bags to support his "Always Keep Fighting" campaign.
"Supernatural" season 11 comes back to the CW on Oct. 7.
