Just How R-Rated Will 'Crimson Peak' Be? Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain And Mia Wasikowska Weigh In On The Film’s Intensity

| By

"Crimson Peak" star Tom Hiddleston already admitted that Guillermo Del Toro's new gothic horror film will be "very kinky" but we still don't know exactly how kinky things will actually get.

His previous comments tied up with the helmer's revelation that the film will be an R-rated gothic romance. Just how rated will this new feature be?

Speaking to io9, the "Avengers" star further disclosed that his new movie will contain "hard scenes" that even he found hard to film.

Viewers can also expect some incestuous elements to Thomas (Hiddleston) and Lucille Sharpe's (Jessica Chastain) sibling relationship.

"The thing about gothic romance is, there's always a sexuality at play. And incest has been something that's been hinted at by other novels in the genre," he told io9.

Despite the rated-R disclaimer already in place, "Crimson Peak" star Tom Hiddleston assured viewers that their questionable bond will have a reason behind it.

"It's an interesting dynamic," he explained. "They're a brother and a sister who've been orphaned, and they're in this big old house, and they have a very deep connection. But there's a lot of other romantic elements in the film, too."

When Mia Wasikowska, who plays Thomas' wife, Edith, was asked which love triangle (Edith-Thomas-Lucille or Thomas-Edith-Michael) will be more "intense", she admitted that it would have to be based on each person's own opinion.

"I guess that's so subjective," she told the site. "Everyone will connect to something different. But they're both very different."

What's surely "intense" in the film, according to Chastain, will be several scenes that even she had a hard time shooting.

"There was one scene in particular that was very difficult for me to film. And my character was emotional. There's a sequence in the film that goes on forever (laughs) and it's physically draining and emotionally draining," she shared

Even though it's an R-rated film, "Crimson Peak", according to Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain, can be a "perfect date movie" for lovers or would-be lovers cuddle each other with.
