Just a month before its alleged earlier release date in August, Samsung Gear A smartwatch specs have been leaked.
As it was hinted before, the Gear A is said to be powered by an Exynos 3472 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 Ghz, according to SamMobile. This is complemented by a Mali-400 GPU clocked at 450 MHz, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage and a 250mAh battery.
Earlier this month, Franchise Herald reported that the Gear A smartwatch may come in two variants. It looks like this is the case, according to SamMobile. Reportedly, one variant will have Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity while the other one adds Wi-Fi support as well.
Other leaked Samsung Gear A smartwatch specs include built-in GPS, gyro, accelerometer, barometer and heart rate sensors. The Korean tech firm's upcoming round smartwatch will reportedly have a round Super AMOLED display with a 360 x 360p resolution.
While it was not revealed how big it will be, TechnoBuffalo thinks the Gear A could have a 1.56-inch display like the Moto 360.
"Anything larger than that might seem unwieldy, though the Gear A could minimize its overall footprint by being thinner than competing wearables."
"A new, special version of Tizen will be on board, featuring an interface designed specifically for the round screen," GSMArena said.
Just like its rival the Apple Watch, the Gear A smartwatch is said to have a digital crown. In addition, the smartwatch will have a rotating bezel which can be used to navigate its UI, according to Droid Life.
Known internally as Orbis, the device will be the first round smartwatch coming from Samsung. It is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Note 5.
Rumors suggest the Seoul-based company is planning to move up its launch to August. If we hear nothing from them by then, Samsung may opt for the devices' traditional launch venue at IFA 2015 in September.
Expect Samsung Gear A smartwatch specs to be confirmed soon.
