Has Square Enix finally listened to fans' outcry? Will it finally announce a PC release date for "Final Fantasy XV?"
While all of those questions remain to be unanswered, a report from Gematsu may finally make fans jump off of their seats.
Apparenlty, Square Enix has already revealed its upcoming panel lineup for the upcoming Gamescom 2015 happening next month in Cologne, Germany.
"'Final Fantasy XV' - The 'huge stage' of Square Enix's booth is all about 'Final Fantasy XV.' Visitors will be treated to 'a number' of stage presentations with many well-known guests and new insights into the upcoming game. Select fans will also get the chance to play 'Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae 2.0' at the booth. More information regarding the 'Final Fantasy XV' stage schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
And while there's no mentioning of a PC release date, Square Enix has reportedly "more new announcements and reveals at Gamescom 2015," which could surprise fans.
In their hope to change the gaming studio's mind, Gamers have launched a petition to bring back "Final Fantasy" to PC. The plea is posted at Change.Org.
"It's been a long time since we have seen a Final Fantasy game on the PC," the petition read. "With this petition, us PC gamers hope that Square Enix will have a good reason to revive Final Fantasy on PC since it is being developed on PC with DirectX 11."
And while there's no official statement or answer from Square Enix yet, IB Times reported that the Japanese video game developer could have just hinted that "Final Fantasy XV" is indeed coming to PC.
"A teaser demo of Final Fantasy XV has been shown off, hinting that a PC version is in the works," the publication claimed.
Adding, "'Witch - Chapter 0,' was played to show off the capabilities of Windows 10 and in particular DirectX 12, which Microsoft said is capable of compiling six times more polygons than DirectX 11."
Kpopstarz on the other hand has noticed that the demo's graphics looks compatible with PC requirements.
"The trailer and gameplay demo of 'Final Fantasy XV' shows that the quality of the graphics of the video game for the next-gen gaming consoles has improved over its predecessors, the publication claimed. "Square Enix will reportedly use Luminous Studio graphics technology to improve the graphics quality even further."
