SDCC 2015 was the first stop for the HTC Vive Tour where attendees got a taste of the VR headset and its wireless controller. But over the weekend, the Taiwanese tech firm announced more stops for the tour which now includes international locations.

"HTC announced that its upcoming Valve-powered virtual reality headset, Vive VR, will be available for curious customers to try at eleven venues worldwide in the next six months," Gamespot reported.

Franchise Herald reported last week that Louisville, Ky. is among the stops of the tour. In a blog post, HTC announced more stops for this month including Chicago and Kansas City, Kan. Seattle is the first stop in August followed by Cologne, Germany, San Francisco, Portland, Ore., and Seattle.

The HTC Vive Tour will be present at IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany in September. From October to November, it will jump to Paris, France in time for the Paris Games Week.

And speaking of updates, HTC executive director Jeffrey Gattis revealed that we may see the final consumer-ready version of the Vive VR headset soon, according to TechRadar.

"We are targeting mid-October, but have not yet finalized the event details, venue, etc. Our hardware development, for the consumer versions of both the HMD and wireless controllers, remain on schedule for the end of 2015."

Gattis didn't reveal any device's specs but did say that it will be "more refined from a design standpoint."

The HTC exec also assured that "the first consumer units will be on sale and in the hands of customers before the end of this year." In the past, the Vive VR was rumored to have a November release date.

It should be noted that units showcased at the HTC Vive Tour are development kits.
