Former ‘Cosby Show’ Actor Joseph C. Phillips And Whoopi Goldberg Address Bill Cosby Allegations

| By

Part of a recently released 2005 deposition revealed that Bill Cosby had admitted to procuring Quaaludes with the intention of using them to have sex with women, according to the LA Times.

Whoopi Goldberg, who has publicly stood by the “Cosby Show” star, and actor Joseph C. Phillips, who played Cosby’s son-in-law in the show, shared their opinions regarding Bill Cosby shortly after the recent reveal.

“If this is to be tried in the court of public opinion, I've got to say, all the information that's out there kind of points to guilt," Goldberg said on “The View.”

Goldberg reportedly had no idea that the man accused of rape by more than four dozen women could not be taken to court regarding the allegations until she spoke with ABC News legal analyst Dan Abrahams. This may have prompted Goldberg to switch over from her “innocent until proven guilty” opinion, which she had widely received criticism for.

Phillips, who had yet to speak on the allegations against Cosby, wrote in a Monday blog post “of course Bill Cosby is guilty” following the recent revelation, according to TIME.

Phillips also reportedly wrote that when he first joined the cast of the show in 1989, it was apparent that Cosby cheated on his wife and “it seemed to be common knowledge that Bill played around.”

“Bill, you have a family who loves you, a wife who is devoted to you; you have more money than you can spend. Please go live a quite country life,” concluded the actor.
