Fans don't need to be horrified, however. The Academy Award winning actress definitely knows about the mistake made on her hand.
She happily showed off her tattoo of the chemical symbol for water on her right hand. Unfortunately, the ink doesn't exactly look like the correct common symbol.
"I know that the two is high and in H2O the two is supposed to be low," the award-winning actress told Daily Mail during the San Diego Comic Con last week. In true Jennifer Lawrence-fashion, though, she just shrugged the whole thing off when she realized her mistake.
"I should have Googled it before I got it tattooed on my body forever," the "Hunger Games" actress joked.
"It's literally the most un-rebellious tattoo anybody could ever get," she further shared to HitFix. "I call this tattoo a watered down rebellion, because it's not like a real tattoo."
The "X-Men" star also revealed how she got it, which was colored brown to look more like a scar than an actually tattoo.
"I was with Liam's family and everybody was getting tattooed," she shared, "so, I was like, 'I'm always going to need to be hydrated. So, I guess I should just get H2O tattooed on my hand.'"
According to the Daily Mail, Jennifer Lawrence's tattoo isn't really a new addition to the "Silver Lining Playbook" star's body. She was already spotted with it when she playfully covered Emma Watson's face during the Dior Fashion Show in Paris of July last year.
Tattoo fail aside, Lawrence definitely had a great time at Comic Con this year. Aside from joining the ultimate Marvel superhero selfie with Stan Lee, she also managed to bump into one of her idols, Bill Murray, at the event.
'I've been a huge fan of Bill Murray for a really long time,' she told Daily Mail. 'I've kind of spoke to him through Woody [Harrelson, her The Hunger Games co-star]. I've sent emails to Woody, mostly when I was drunk, with things I wanted to say to Bill Murray."
What do you think of Jennifer Lawrence's failed tattoo?
