More and more famous celebrities have been joining the cast of "Zoolander 2" and the recent addition is Ariana Grande.
Her involvement in Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson's upcoming sequel was revealed by Susan Sarandon. The 68-year-old actress showed her support for the 22-year-old singer after the donut shop scandal.
"Today, lick a doughnut in solidarity with @ArianaGrande. A sweet, talented, true American," she wrote on Twitter.
Many people were wondering why Susan Sarandon was trying to defend the "Bang Bang" hitmaker. During an interview with Vulture, the Academy Award winner revealed her relationship with Ariana Grande.
"Well, I just worked with her. We did 'Zoolander 2' together, in Rome," she said. "She couldn't be more professional or sweet."
The "Tammy" actress also asked people who were trying to bash the young singer to focus more on serious political and social issues. "Clearly [her remarks were] taken out of context. But of all the things - if only that energy was put to the study of the effects of GMOs, which affect your health a lot more than licking a doughnut," Sarandon explained.
"People should be outraged by what Monsanto is doing, not Ariana. She's smart, and she's a really great, very talented person. It's just ridiculous they're jumping on her the way they are."
Apart from Ariana Grande, another famous young musician was confirmed to star in "Zoolander 2" - and that is Justin Bieber. Last month, the 21-year-old pop star revealed his role in the comedy sequel. "I start the movie off. [I'm] the first thing you see in the movie, which is pretty cool. I do this whole, like, parkour sequence," the hitmaker told Women's Wear Daily.
The "Baby" hitmaker also shared his experience working with Ben Stiller, who is the lead star and director of "Zoolander 2."
"I've never really done something like that before. I didn't expect Ben to be so hands on... It was really cool to have him direct me in such a nonthreatening way. I wasn't intimidated at all," Justin Bieber said.
