Sherlock Holmes and Molly may have an awkward friendship in the BBC drama but Benedict Cumberbatch fully supports his "Sherlock" co-star Louise Brealey in real life!
The Academy Award nominated actor has been busy preparing for his role as Shakespeare's "Hamlet" this coming August but he took time off on Tuesday to watch Brealey's theater performance at Trafalgar Studios.
According to the Daily Mail, the new father was spotted rushing through fans during press night for "Constellation" on Tuesday to get to his seat. He was dressed down, wearing a blue jacket, a gray shirt, black pants and white sneakers. He also wore a pair of prescription glasses as he carried a bag inside the theater.
Despite being a world star, "The Imitation Game" actor didn't get any special treatment that day. He reportedly flagged down a taxi after the show and kept to his phone during his journey home.
Meanwhile, Bleary plays physicist Marianne in "Constellation" who meets and falls in love with beekeeper Roland, played by "Happy Valley" actor, Joe Armstrong.
In "Sherlock", Benedict Cumberbatch's lead character constantly asks Brealey's character, Molly, for help for his cases but can't (or won't) acknowledge her one-sided feelings for him.
In real life, they are good friends. She reportedly accompanied Cumberbatch and then girlfriend and current wife Sophie Hunter during a theater date last year, just before they made their relationship public.
The 38-year-old actor and his wife, who welcomed a son last month, were last spotted during a night off from parenting at the Serpentine Summer Ball in Kensington Gardens earlier this month.
On the other hand, fans are excited to see Cumberbatch's take on the Shakespeare's troubled prince, if sold-out tickets for the series of shows are any indication. Unfortunately, his preparation for the play prevented him from joining the San Diego Comic Con festivities last week.
Even though Benedict Cumberbatch wasn't at the "Sherlock" panel, avid followers of the British show were given a treat by executive producers Stephen Moffat and Sue Vertue.
A first look at the standalone Christmas episode was released, featuring the show's usual banter and the return of Dr. Watson's moustache.
